Jay Shein is Founder Emeritus and Consultant of Compass Financial Group, Inc., bringing decades of leadership and expertise to the firm. He holds the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP^®), Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA^®), and Certified Investment Strategist^℠ (CIS^℠) designations.

Over his career, Jay led investment strategy at Compass and authored multiple editions of Asset Allocation and Portfolio Structure (CCH, Inc., 2009–2026). He has contributed to professional journals including The Journal of Investment Consulting, The Journal of Financial Planning, Investments & Wealth Monitor, The CFA Digest, and Estate Planning Review–The Journal.

Jay has served in numerous leadership roles within the profession, including Co-Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Investment Consulting, Chairman of the IMCA® Certification Commission, Chairman of the Council on Examinations (formerly known as the Board of Examiners) for the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, and President and Chairman of the Financial Planning Association of Broward County. He has also contributed to the boards of the FAU Foundation and John Knox Village Foundation.

He is a member of the Investments & Wealth Institute^® (formerly IMCA), the Estate Planning Council of Broward County, and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Tax Council.
